End of Year expectations by Year Group

We have put together booklets to provide parents and carers on the end of year learning indicators of performance in our school. Statements identify what teachers are working on throughout the year to enable children to acquire the confidence and skills in key areas. They are not the full curriculum we teach in school but do outline key indicators in reading, writing and maths. If you would like further information on the National Curriculum  please follow this link:

All the objectives outlined in the end of year expectations will be worked on throughout the year and are the focus of direct teaching and monitoring. If we feel a child is needing extra support in areas we do this within class and through our uses of resources and adult support. Any extra support you can provide in helping your children to achieve the is greatly valued and helps to nurture greater confidence in your child’s understanding and application.

Throughout the school year all teachers will routinely monitor pupils on progress and attainment through everyday teaching as well as assessments. These assessments help us to inform how we can best support children to flourish in their academic journey. Through parents evenings and reports and ongoing dialogue with you we share your child’s progress and areas to develop so that we can ensure children reach their individual potential at our school.
