What a truly amazing week our year 6 children had! The week started with the children settling into their new lodges for the week – bed making, packed lunch and playtime in the glorious Cumbrian coast line. On the first afternoon, the children completed an orienteering challenge after which they were hungry for the amazing food prepared by the onsite chef Dave!  Over the next two days, children enjoyed abseiling, rock climbing, bush craft skills, a sea cliff traverse and a walk to Gummers How to enjoy the magnificent views. The last full day brought water sports with it!  A day of kayaking, raft building and many games and races – lots of happy wet children by the end of the day.  Friday, the last day, started with an amazing fry up and then the children packed up their possessions and stripped their beds.  Team games and challenges kept the children busy for the rest of the morning and then it was time to say goodbye and start the journey home.

The children were all fantastic and their enthusiasm to try new activities combined with their excitement to be away with friends made the week so special.  A big thanks to parents for allowing their children to join in this event with us, and for putting up with the inevitable tiredness (and washing) when they returned home.  Also a huge thank you to Mrs Perry, Mr Reeve and Miss Reynolds for taking the children away, looking after them and for making the week one to remember.
