Welcome Back!
We’re delighted to be back at Tockwith Primary – and what a couple of weeks we’ve had!! So far this term we’ve had our new admissions in Reception start full time with us and settle into their new environment. We held our new parent lunch and loved welcoming over 30 adults into school to eat with their children in the school hall. What an experience for everyone!
The whole school has also started following a new play scheme, OPAL, during playtimes and lunchtimes this year. This scheme allows play to be freely chosen by the child and be directed by the child, and ensures that children are out playing in all weather! You’ll have noticed that we are asking for different items from the community – this is for our children to play with and we’ve noticed that the children are enjoying playtimes much more this year. We’ll provide a specific update on this in another month or so when the playscheme has really become embedded at Tockwith.
We’ve had Mrs Elcock, a flute teacher, come into school to talk to the children about the flute and opportunities to play it. She will be coming back this week to give taster sessions to any children that are interested – children can sign up for lessons if they are interested after the taster sessions.
Keep checking in to see updates from what our children have been up to whilst at school!
