Y6 Trip to London

Our year 6 children had an incredible day in London yesterday – what an absolutely amazing experience!  The children caught a coach from Tockwith Primary to York train station where they boarded a train to London. Unfortunately the train had some mechanical issues so the group had to have a pit stop at Grantham.  After a bit of a delay, the children were back on the train and heading for London. Upon arrival there was a quick walk through London to Pizza Hut in Leicester Square where the children (and adults) enjoyed an all you can eat buffet followed by ice cream!  Following this there was another quick walk through the sights of London to the Houses of Parliament where the group enjoyed a tour around the building as well as a workshop on debating and laws.  The journey back to King’s Cross was full of adventure as the children experienced the tube during rush hour!! Happy to say that everyone made it back to the train and had an uninterrupted journey back to York.

What an incredible experience for our children – they were so well behaved and looked out for each other whilst they journeyed through the city.
