Y3/4 In School Camping Experience

Y3 and Y4 had the amazing experience of spending the night in bell tents on the school field at the start of July!  Children in Y3 arrived on Monday 3rd and after spending the day at school  changed into their camp clothes and went off onto the school fields to enjoy camp life. A delicious BBQ of burgers and then smores for pudding was followed by campside games and songs.   Children finally went to sleep and were woken by bird song and a beautiful sunrise.  Everyone enjoyed a hearty breakfast and it was then time for camp activities.  These included archery, buscrafts and team games.   An exhausted Mr Goodacre and Y3 went home for a nice bath and early bed!  As year 3 left school, year 4 started their overnight camp.  The children followed the same timetable as Y4 and had such an amazing day.    Many many thanks to Wilderness Outdoor Education for bringing the camping experience to Tockwith and to Mr Goodacre and Miss Stanton for giving up their nights to spend it with the children.  Thanks also to the PTFA for funding part of the experience and to parents and carers for allowing their children to take part in the activities, and for looking after their tired children on their return from the camping.
