Sports Day & BBQ

On Friday we held our annual sports day and BBQ lunch.  The children took part in various team games in the morning, including netball shooting, space hopper relay, gold chip, speed bounce, target throwing, hula hoop skipping and balance bike relay to name but a few.   We then held our superb Sports Day BBQ, hot dog, burger or chick pea and coriander burger with cous cous and salad followed by cakes, banoffee pie, fruit or an ice lolly!  Amazing well done to Mrs Hobson and her team for the delicious food – over 130 adults joined us which mean we catered for over 170 children and adults!!  Parents, carers and friends then stayed for the sports day races, held in the afternoon.

Each year held heats and then the final and these were followed by relay races and the Y5/6 marathon races.  The rain held off pretty much all day and only made an appearance for the results – many thanks for parents / carers for showing up to support our children and school.

Many thanks to Miss Stanton for organising the day and for all of the hard work she put in. Thanks also to all of the other teachers, teaching assistants, governors and support staff who all helped support the day.
