Last week we were lucky enough to have Amy Garcia from Look North come to Tockwith Primary to try being a Teaching Assistant for the morning as part of the BBC Children in Need Job Swap.  Amy arrived bright and early and after a school assembly, she went straight into class and helped the children with their maths – and was amazed by their knowledge!  The children then went on to astound Amy with their awesome story writing.  As if she hadn’t had enough by then, Amy then went on to serve the children lunch in the dinner hall and finished off with a cuppa in the staff room.

Amy commented that the energy needed for the role is off the scale but she had an amazing time, even if she was shattered afterwards!

The experience was continued when Mrs Williamson and Neville went on camera to read the news – how exciting!!   Mrs Williamson did an amazing job reading the news and made us so proud.  Neville stole the show when in true Blue Peter style, he jumped off the couch to run to Mr Reeve behind the scenes!   Thanks to Amy for coming to Tockwith Primary and working with us, and to Mrs Williamson for writing in to Look North suggesting the job swap!
