Tockwith Creativity Day

The last day of term brought with it our Creativity Day – what an amazing morning we had. The children put in exceptional performances, from acting to dancing, from gymnastics to singing – what a morning full or talent!  The children really were fulfilling our core value of ‘Live life in all it’s fullness’ (John 10:10).   We had so many parents, grandparents and carers come and support our children, it was brilliant to see so many of you – we so appreciate all of the support you provide to us at Tockwith.

The day had performances from all years as follows:

Reception retold the story of the Supertato and how to trap the evil pea!  They finished the performance with a superhero dance and the children looked magnificent in their outfits, capes and masks!

Year 1 performed a story about Plastic Pollution and recycling, and how plastic can harm our environment.  The children wore the amazing costumes they had made out of recyclable materials.

As part of the ‘Deep Blue Sea’ topic Year 2 have been studying the performance poem ‘Commotion in the Ocean’.  They performed this alongside a dance they choreographed themselves and also sang a song about the ocean.

Year 3 have been using their talents in collaboration with the topic of ‘Ancient Greeks.’ They performed 5 mini sketches and a song they have learnt.

Year 4 have enjoyed reading lots of different Greek myths, especially the ones with lots of danger. They performed one of their favourite myths for Creativity Day.

Year 5 used their new gymnastics skills to help choreograph a gymnastics routine that included jumps, balancing and turns. They used the Aztec myth ‘How Music Came to the World’ as their stimulus. They also read the story and created a video which retold it as they performed.

Year 6 have enjoyed learning about the Aztecs. They told the Aztec story of How Music Came to the World through their own drama, dance and music compositions.
