Test the Teacher Final!

Back in November, Mr Goodacre took part in ‘Test the Teacher’, organised by York Mix Radio. Mr Goodacre did really well and managed to achieve 15 points in total. We were delighted to hear that at the end of the preliminary rounds, he was in third place and invited to the final with St Lawrence’s Primary and Tadcaster Primary.

This morning Mr Goodacre took part in the final which involved each teacher being asked 5 questions – the subjects were Science, History, English, Music and General Knowledge.  Mr Goodacre went first and scored and impressive 3 out of 5 – see below for his questions.  Mr Foster from Tadcaster Primary followed and (un)fortunately he scored 1 out of 5. The tension was building – Mr Goodacre was now in second place, but can he make it to first?!   Mr French from St Lawrence’s Primary was the final contestant – he scored 2 out of 5 which meant Mr Goodacre finished in first place!!

For an additional prize, the three contestants were asked a final question – the champion that is Mr Goodacre only went and won that as well!

Mr Goodacre won a pool party for Y3 and also managed to win himself York Sport membership for 3 month.   Mr Goodacre commented ‘I can’t believe I won Test the Teacher 2023. Thanks to York Mix Radio, it was great fn taking part’.
