On Thursday 10th May, the Tockwith Primary choir attended the Community Choir Festival at The King’s Theatre on the ground of Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate.  They were joined by choirs from Green Hammerton Primary, Great Ouseburn Primary, Sessay Primary, Kirby Hill Primary and Queen Ethelburga.

The children showed great skill and courage through performing in front of a packed theatre of parents, grandparents, carers and other friends and family. The choir performed fantastically and were unmatched in their unique combination of confidence, skill and of course, volume!

Huge thanks to Miss Hargreaves for the hours of practice she has put in with the children and also for organising our involvement in the event last night.

We’ve already had some fabulous feedback from parents and family members who watched the performance last night:

“Having attended last evening’s performance at Queen  Ethelburga’s School we would like to say your school choir can hold their heads up high. Would you pass on our congratulations to both Miss Hargreaves and all the children. If Sophie’s reaction was anything to go by the children thoroughly  enjoyed  themselves.”

“The Tockwith Primary Choir put on a fantastic performance last night at the hugely enjoyable QE Choirs Festival. All of the children sang brilliantly with some magnificent solo performances. It was a wonderful stage for them to perform on with a packed audience full of delighted Parents, friends and carers. Please pass on a big Thank You and Congratulations to Miss Hargreaves for her outstanding effort in bringing the children together for such a rewarding and entertaining evening.”

The following shows some of our children performing last night:
