Our Y6 children travelled to Cumbria to Humphrey Head for their 5 day residential. Lots of excited children left school on Monday and arrived at Humphrey Head by lunchtime. Orienteering, team games and a walk to the headlands were the activities completed on the first day. Activities throughout the week have included going on a cat canoe on Lake Windermere, boulding, a walk up Gummers Howe, bushcraft skills, seacliff scramble, a mountain walk and raft building. What a week!!
The children have eaten really well with breakfasts of cereal, pastries and toast, yogurt and fruit, self made packed lunches and teas of pasta bolognaise, cumberland sausage and mash, beef and potato pie and chicken with potatoes and vegetables. Every tea includes a delicious pudding such as sticky toffee pudding or chocolate fudge cake – they are being spoilt!
We expect them to be very tired (and dirty) when they get home so good luck parents/carers and thank you for letting us take them away for a week that they won’t forget!
