Each year Harrogate Ladies College celebrate Inspirational Women’s Day by inviting children to write  about an inspirational women and to tell them why they have inspired them.  All Children in Y3 entered the competition and two of the children were selected as finalists!  The two children were invited to Harrogate Ladies College for a special luncheon where the winners would be announced.

Amy wrote about Leah Williamson, who is a professional footballer- captain of the Arsenal and England women football teams and has also written two children’s books.  Pippa wrote a tribute to a relative who was one of the few women to study medicine in 1936.

Amy was announced as the winner of her category, winning book prizes for herself and school.  She also appeared on Your Harrogate radio station discussing the subject.  Pippa was the only Y3 child to receive an honourable mention.

Many thanks to Mrs Parker for entering the children into the competition and for taking the children to the luncheon yesterday.
