Sustainable, ethical shopping without the plastic packaging in Tockwith!

On Tuesday Year 1 went to visit the wonderful Bluebell Pantry in the village. Bluebell Pantry is a new ‘zero waste’ click+collect refill shop, based in Tockwith.

This means you’ll find loose dry food by weight, such as pasta, rice, cereals, nuts, baking ingredients, dried fruit, herbs and spices, seeds and snacks. They also sell household cleaning liquid refills like shampoo and conditioner, soap, washing up liquid, surface cleaner, laundry liquid. Plus a few handy eco alternatives like wax wraps, loose leaf tea infusers and more.

The Pantry is a collection point only, not a physical shop, so you just select a click+collect slot and order what you need online. Your chosen products will be packed for you to collect, either into your own reusable containers (if you drop these off in advance), or into their home compostable 100% recycled paper bags (though you’ll still need to bring your containers on the day if you’ve chosen any liquid products!).  During your slot, you collect your products from the Pantry and pay.

Bluebell Pantry is located at Bluebell House, 20 Westfield Road, Tockwith YO26 7PY.

It will re-open from next week.  The website where you can place your order is:  https://bluebellpantry.co.uk/
