The Great Tockwith Spring Clean

Today, the school council helped support The Great British Spring Clean by doing a litter pick in and around Tockwith Primary Academy. Our school council consists of 2 children from each class (years 2-6) that have been elected by the rest of their class.   The Great British Spring Clean is organised by Keep Britain Tidy and is running for the next 2 weeks (from 25th March to 10th April) and is challenging everyone to do their bit to Keep Britain Tidy.

With the help of Mrs Dutton and Mrs Starr (our very own Wetherby Wombler!), the children collected 5 bin bags full of rubbish from in and around Tockwith Primary.  What a brilliant start to the Spring Clean! Many thanks to the Ainsty Climate Emergency Working Group for lending us some litter pickers for the children to use.

We are hoping to continue litter picking over the next two weeks and we encourage everyone to join us and help keep Britain tidy!
