Forest School

Since we introduced the forest school last year, the children are certainly enjoying working and playing in there! Children in Y1 (across both Team Davidson and Team Medley) have been going to the Forest School area each week to enjoy the area.  The children have a level of free flow where they can choose what activities they do (digging, playing in the mud kitchen etc) and then they have topic activities such as searching for signs of Autumn and hibernating animals!  The children have also made Autumn bracelets.

Children in Y2 (Team Williamson and Tead Davidson) have had the option to join the Tockwith Trekkers – this is an after school club in the Forest School. Children have been making clay faces, digging, worm hunting and on the final session, roasting marshmallows over a fire and drinking hot chocolate!

Reception children are currently going into Forest school and getting used to the rules and surrounding area ready for next half term.  The children are loving it and can’t wait to start going weekly!
