On Thursday 7th March, our children in years 1 and 2 were lucky enough to take part in a Great Fire of London workshop! This workshop set the scene of the Great Fire of London and told the story of how the fire started and spread. The children were able to role play the closeness of the houses and attempting to put out the fires – a lot harder that you think! The children worked together in small groups to have hands on investigation of a range of artifacts linked to the Great Fire.  They discovered what these artifacts were and how they were used long ago.

Finally, there was an activity on Samuel Pepys – the children were able to try using a quill pen and ink to write key words and sentences associated with the Great Fire.
