Year 3 and 4 are currently studying the Iron Age and in order to fully appreciate how the people lived, they spent a day last week living in the Iron Age!  The children split into 4 groups and took part in 4 different activities. One of the activities was to act as hunter gatherer and forage for nettles, dandelion leaves and herbs which were added to the hen stew.  Another activity was to cook the stew on an open fire after cutting up all of the ingredients.   One of the activities was to learn how to make a fire, and how to keep it alight.  The final activity was to act out rescuing a tribe member from a lion’s lair!  What a fantastic time all of the children had experiencing all these new activities from the Iron Age – thanks to Mrs George and Mr Goodacre for the time and effort they put into perfecting the days activities!
