Cross Country Area Final

On Monday 4th February 17 children from Tockwith Primary went to Selby College in order to take part in the Selby District Area final for Cross Country. There were 5 sports partnerships there, which totals 25 schools. It was a freezing day with a strong wind so the race was a tough challenge for the children.  Years 3 and 4 had a 1.3km race and the children in years 5 and 6 ran a 1.5km race! The race itself involves a fast pace throughout with a sprint for the last 100 yards – hard work with some exhausted children who were pushed to their limit!  We are very proud to announce that 5 children finished in the top 8 so will be progressing forward to the North Yorkshire final Cross Country race.
