Comic Relief 2019

Tockwith celebrated Comic Relief with a cupcake competition.  We were inundated with entries and even had a queue out the door of people dropping their cakes off!  The cakes were judged by Mr Reeve and several senior leaders we had in, visiting from nearby schools.  They were all amazed by the quality of the cakes we had on display so well done to everyone who entered.   Congratulations to Florence from Year 3 for coming first, Ryan in Year 6 for coming second and Fran from Year 1 for coming in third place.

The children dressed in red for a donation of £1, the cakes were on sale for 50p each and we had some children in Year 6 selling loom band bracelets that they had made.

The school council held an assembly in the afternoon to make the children aware of what Comic Relief is, why we raise money and where that money is spent. The Councillors did a terrific job standing up in front of the whole school.

We raised over £350 from the dress down donations, the bracelet and cake sales which is a magnificent amount. Thanks so much to everyone who supported us in this event.
